We assess the main panel for available capacity to supply the feeder circuit. If the main panel is at or near capacity, an upgrade may be required before the subpanel can be installed safely. We run feeder cable from the main panel to the subpanel location, install the subpanel with the required main breaker, and wire the branch circuits serving the space.

Detached garages being converted to workshops or living spaces are the most common subpanel project — a garage addition typically requires six to twelve circuits for lighting, outlets, dedicated tool circuits, and EV charging. Pool houses and guest cottages at a distance from the main house require subpanels rather than long individual circuit runs. Large home additions with multiple rooms and appliances are better served by a subpanel than by running all circuits back to a crowded main panel.
